In this article, I will be comparing IFB TL-RDW vs TL-RDS front load washing machines. These models are so similar that one can easily get confused about which one to buy. This post of mine aims to help you select the right model for your home.
IFB revolutionized the washing machine industry in India with the launch of its high-quality products. These two models at hand are no different. They come with all basic functionalities and are absolutely a value for money buy.
Before I get in the technical details, I decided to write a summary paragraph for those people who directly want me to get to my recommendation.
Summary – So, Which Model to Buy?
Amongst the two IFB machines that we are evaluating, I have no doubt what so ever in recommending everyone to go for this particular model. I will provide my detailed reasoning in the latter half of this post.
However, before you make your purchase, do remember to click here first and compare prices on Flipkart as well. (The first link I provided takes you to Amazon India).
I have no doubt that the model that I recommend above is good. However, if you increase your budget slightly, you can get a wonderful machine with more advanced features. This washing machine also has a higher capacity of 8 Kgs and comes with an inbuilt heater as well.
Comparison – IFB TL-RDS vs IFB TL-RDW
To make things easier, I decided to make a comparison table below. This should help you visualize any differences between these two products with ease.
So as you can see from the table above, there is hardly any difference between the two machines in terms of the technology used. They are actually exactly the same machine.
The only difference between IFB TL-RDW & TL-RDS is the colour and the outer finishing of the product. The IFB TL-RDW is painted white and looks ok, the IFB TL-RDS has a shiny silver coat to it.
This helps conclude that if you wish to save money go for the IFB TL-RDW. While if you don’t mind spending some extra money for a better-looking product, you can opt for the TL-RDS.

However, do remember, that both these models offer quite basic functionality. If you have some additional budget, make sure you consider the product that I will be recommending in the next section.
Alternatives to IFB TL-RDW & TL-RDS
Both these options that you have selected are ideal for small family or bachelors. I would surely recommend buying a washing machine that is slightly bigger keeping in mind your future requirements.
Both these machines also not have an inbuilt heater. So if you wish to wash heavy or dirty clothes like curtains, bedsheets, jeans or even baby clothes, you might not get them as clean as you would have wanted.
I hence recommend going for the Whirlpool 8 Kg Stainwash Ultra (N) 8.0 10 YMW. This product has all the features that I just spoke about and will not make a hole in your pocket while you buy it. (Links to the product provided below)
I have written a post on Whirlpool Top Load Washing Machines. You can read the same if you want to know more about these machines.
