In this article, I will be discussing my experience of using & review of Preethi’s Zodiac 2.0 Mixer Grinder.

As a fan of smart and digital kitchen appliances, I got interested in Preethi’s products which are renowned for being designed after intensive research. Discussed below are some key takeaways from my experience of using this product on a day to day basis.

 

Review: Is it Worth Buying?

Preethi Zodiac 2.0 is a great product. It performs really well and looks even better in your kitchen. The 750W Vega W5 Motor was the deal sealer for me. If budget is not an issue, you can buy this product with your eyes closed.

However, for budget-conscious people like me, I will also recommend you to consider this Preethi model too. It comes with 5 Jars (Black/Light Grey) and has similar features as that of Preethi Zodiac 2.0.

Preethi Zodiac 2.0 Review

1. Enrich +

Enrich + is a unique feature common in a lot of Preethi’s mixer grinders. It is a Precision Grinding mechanism that recognizes the ideal grinding time, swiftness, duration and rotating power to get the best taste and nutrition from the ingredients that you grind. It boosts assimilation of essential natural nutrients and discharges better sweet-smelling flavours.

Enrich+ is the main difference between Preethi Zodiac and Preethi Zodiac 2.0. The older version only operates like a regular mixer grinder but the 2.0 comes with special buttons that varies the speed as per your grinding needs.

 

2. Pre-Set Menus/Modes

The grinder comes with 4 pre-set menus that are really helpful –

• Batter
• Coconut chutney
• Atta kneading
• Puree

These modes are each designed to grind precisely to certain degrees. I tried out some recipes on this unit. I was surprised how expertly I got my desired results with just one press of a button. These menus are perfect for preparing ingredients. There is good consistency in taste and texture with every mode.

3. Efficient Food Processing Jar

This unit has a special Master Chef + Jar, which helps process the ingredients. I recorded the time the jar took to process certain ingredients –

• Atta Kneading took 1 min
• Chopping pulses took two minutes
• Grating and slicing of vegetables took mere seconds
• Meat mincing took 2 minutes
• Juicing citrus fruits took less than 2 minutes

4. 3-In-1 Instant-Fresh Juicing Jar

The unit offers three juicing functions that are very impressive –

• Centrifugal Juicer
• Blender
• Super Extractor

All these modes are perfect for preparing multi-textured fresh fruit juices. The blender works perfectly for mixing milkshakes with fruits and vegetables. The super extractor is perfect for grinding out coconut milk as well.

5. Amazing Grinding Performance

The first thing I look out for in a grinder is the grinding experience. All those additional features do not matter if my grinder is not doing the most basic thing. This model definitely did not disappoint. The 750W Vega W5 Motor is amazing. Just to test the product, I did some heavy-duty grinding, grinding hard substances like turmeric and coconuts. In less than just 2 minutes, the results were very good.

6. 3D Air Cooling Technology

This is a feature you must look out for when buying a mixer grinder. It keeps the motor cool when grinding so I could use the unit for longer cycles. It also enhances the motor life.

7. LED Panel

The LED panel is efficient in indicating any form of overload. The warning signs come up if there is an error.

8. Reduced Noise levels (maximum 80-90Db)

9. Wide tripod base

The wide tripod base boosts stability. Grinding and kneading are easier and the unit is able to take up heavy loads while still maintaining decent RPM (rotations per minute). RPM is 19,000 without any load and 10,000 when fully loaded.

10. Experience

Overall, I could conduct speedy operations with this mixer. Making delicious chutneys is as easy as grinding spices. The hygienic stainless-steel blades are of top quality. They are easy to clean as well.

Only 2-year warranty on the unit (5 years on the motor)

 

Should You Buy It?

Absolutely yes! This unit is priced around the 12,000 INR mark which makes it the perfect long-term investment. Preethi, over the past 40 years, has heavily invested in engineering good mixer and grinders. Started in 1978, over a small period of time the brand has associated itself with consistency and quality.

This is why I’m so confident about this product. Even though I didn’t have any customer complaint when using this product, Preethi scores highly on customer service surveys so I’m sure their post-sale behaviour is up there with the best as well. Overall, this model is definitely deserving of the 4/5 reviews on Amazon. It is a solid buy. I’m expecting this product to serve me for at least ten years.
